Exercise program to manage heart disease and improve your exercise tolerance and quality of life.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

About the service

Cardiac Rehabilitation is an 8-week structured program based on the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand1 and National Heart Foundation of Australia2 guidelines and is designed to help people with heart conditions to recover and improve their cardiovascular health. The program incorporates a combination of exercise, education, and support, and aims to improve aerobic capacity and muscle strength, reduce the risk of further heart problems, and actively promote lifestyle changes to improve your quality of life.

Cardiac rehabilitation may be recommended to you if you are post-cardiac surgery, recovering from a heart attack or cardiac arrest, or are at risk or heart disease (e.g., high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes).

The program includes supervised exercise, education, ongoing monitoring, and support to empower you to better manage your heart health.

Speak to Sean, your GP and wider medical team, if you are interested in enrolling in cardiac rehabilitation.

1nspire Physiotherapy will offer individual cardiac rehabilitation sessions in 2025.
